The American Almanac connects you with the seasons, the stars, and beyond. You can easily find out when the moon rises tonight, or five years from now. See and really understand how the sun moves across the sky and creates day and night, and how it varies during the year. Get weather reports, learn when to plant carrots, and see whether Venus will greet you when you awake.

The app gives you access to astronomical and natural data in an innovative and smart way. The home page gives you a summary of everything you need to know that day. From there, you can drill down into any of the main categories to get more and more detail. Moving through time is quick and easy. Just slide the screen left or right to move the clock ahead or back, or if you want to pick a specific date, tap the date in the toolbar.

Its both a work of art and a really useful tool. It will help you learn, appreciate, and benefit from nature every day. There is no other app that combines all of this data, and all of these features, in such a beautiful and ingenious way. The American Almanac is an app that people keep, and when you buy it, I think youll agree.

Pros and cons of American Almanac 2 app for iPhone and iPad

American Almanac 2 app good for

This is a great almanac app! Theres a lot of information packed in here for 1.99. One feature I miss from the old app is the lunar illumination percent that was on the home page. I cant find it anywhere in the new app. Its nice to know if the moon is 96% illuminated or a full 100%!
This app is way cool I love using the multifunctional depth that is offered. I just wish that I didnt have to buy the upgrade after I purchased the old version.
This app is awesome, clearly a labor of love. I enjoy all the surprising details that are crammed in here. Lots of unique information. :)
Love all the features, especially the art in some of the modules. Best almanac out there!
Informative and fun. I like to use the blue and golden hours feature for photography.

Some bad moments

Giving one star to bring the rating down because I bought this app a few years ago and now I have to buy it again as the old one is being phased out so were told by developer and its only for the iPhone the old app was set up for both. Guess there will be an iPad version for a few bucks soon. Its a cleaner interface but I liked the old one better with that said Im sorry I paid for this new one. Oh well live and learn. Hopefully with a few updates it will be a nice as the old version. Only Time will tell.
I was excited to have an almanac app until I realized my "weather updates" from it were actually an email inbox full of ads! Say yes to the app, no to the weather addition. This company should sever their connection to avoid bad reviews...this is a nightmare, I have no idea how to get rid of this additional inbox!
When I think of the Farmers Almanac, I think of being able to see the prediction of the up coming winter summed up in easy format. Where is it?
I have had the old almanac app and this is a direct upgrade. I highly recommend this app to everyone.
As the title says, this is a fun to use , attractive, and may I say info loaded app. If you like the current version you will love this one.
I read it every day. New app is great. Will need tweaks to smooth out some jumpiness.
